What do UHS-I and Class 10 mean?

The speed class indicates the minimum write speed of a card. Class 10 guarantees at least 10 MB/s sustained – enough for Full HD video and fluid saving of burst photos. UHS-I (Ultra High Speed) describes the faster bus interface of modern devices, allowing for significantly higher read speeds, for example, when copying photos to your laptop. Our Elite series cards and the 1 TB card both meet these standards.

Which devices are the cards suitable for?

  • Android smartphones and tablets with a microSD slot, for example from Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Motorola – ideal when internal storage is full.
  • Cameras, action cams, and drones: Save photos and videos directly to the card; thanks to the included SD adapter, they can also be used in DSLR and mirrorless cameras with a standard SD slot.
  • Handheld consoles and gaming: Many handhelds take microSD cards for additional games – 512 GB or 1 TB is worth it here.
  • GPS and dashcams: Map data and continuous recording benefit from waterproof, shockproof, and temperature-resistant cards.
  • Laptop and card readers: Can be used as a fast backup medium thanks to the adapter.

Five tips for everyday microSD use

  1. Format before the first use in the device – this ensures the device uses the correct file system.
  2. Use the "Safely Remove" function instead of just pulling the card out, otherwise files could be corrupted.
  3. Don't fill to the last megabyte: Keeping 10% of storage free keeps the card fast.
  4. Back up regularly: A memory card is working storage, not an archive – copy important photos to your laptop or the cloud as well.
  5. Keep the adapter: The included SD adapter makes the microSD card usable in any standard card slot.
